The checklist...

Before You Hit the Road: What to Bring When You Pick Up the Motorhome

  • Driver’s license – make sure it’s valid for driving the motorhome. You’ll need a full standard Australian or International Driver’s License (‘P-plate’ or probationary licenses are not accepted)
  • Passport & travel insurance if you’re visiting from overseas
  • Campsite reservations – popular campgrounds fill up quickly, so it’s good to plan ahead
  • Offline maps – while GPS is handy, having physical maps or downloaded offline maps can save the day if you lose signal

Kitchen & Cooking: Eat Well on the Road

Motorhome kitchens are compact, but with a bit of creativity, you can whip up delicious meals.

  • Non-perishable food – think pasta, rice and canned goods – easy to cook and store
  • Drink bottles – stay hydrated on your adventures
  • Esky or cooler bag – perfect for keeping snacks fresh while you’re out exploring or enjoying a picnic
  • Collapsible storage containers – handy for leftovers and saving space

Sleeping: Stay Cosy and Comfortable

A good night’s sleep is essential after a day of adventuring.

  • Earplugs & sleeping masks – for light sleepers

Clothing: Don’t Let The Weather Get In Your Way

  • Waterproof jacket or raincoat
  • Comfortable shoes for hiking, walking, or just strolling through new towns
  • Thongs/Flip-Flops – ideal for showers at campsites or trips to the beach
  • Hats & sunglasses – stay sun-smart during those sunny Aussie days
